My mum used to read to me when I was younger, but I had already started to read comics for myself as a 4-year-old. I grew up wanting to be a cartoonist (and I’m still working on it.)
Comics have played an unimaginable role in my life.
So, it is with a heavy heart that I am having to part with a huge chunk of my childhood.
My parents have been great and have put up with my having a large collection – although I haven’t been home much to speak of over the last 20 years. It’s now time to part with what I can and transport what I don’t want to. Stuff that I’m not parting with is Doctor Who, 2000ad, Buster, Cheeky, and certain others.
But a quick rundown of what I’d like to sell is here below:
Pulp Suspense Reprints
1950s / 1960s Eagle books / boys adventure types
1950s-1980s Disney Books / Comics
1960s onwards Marvel / DC
1960s – 1970s Syndicated Comics
1970s 1980s Beano Annuals
1970s SF Annuals
1970s Educational
1970s-1980s Fleetway
1980s Eagle comics
1980s Mature Readers Comix
In the subsequent posts, I’ll give more info on what’s available.
I’ve never been a real collector of anything other than the ones I’m keeping hold of and this is why my collection is a bit hit and miss.
I just really hope I find someone to take the comics who’ll appreciate them.
